Re: Older Hen Attacking New Layer. Is this a Normal Behavior?

Nest box guarding can be a dominance issue. Since she lost her previous flockmates, she may feel like she has to re-establish her place in the new group. Try placing decoy eggs in another box to encourage the pullets to lay elsewhere.

Re: Noticing Tiny White Worms in Chicken Poop Need Advice

Re: Should I Feed My Flock in the Coop or Outside?

Re: Balancing Oats in Layer Feed, How Much Is Too Much?

I like to adjust the ratio depending on the cold. When it's just chilly, I do 10% oats, but when it's really cold, I go up to 20% and mix in some extra protein sources.

Re: Preparing the Brooder and Coop for New Chicks: Cleaning and Bedding Questions

For the coop cleaning, I usually use a diluted bleach solution, then let it air out for a few hours. If you're worried about it, I recommend doing a final rinse with water and vinegar. As for bedding, the deep litter method works well if they'll leave it in place. If they're scattering it, try a ...
