Chickens can eat raw meat, but freezing it first helps kill parasites. Fish scraps are fine, but avoid feeding spoiled or parasite-ridden parts.

I think the soccer net could work for keeping chickens in and hawks out, but I'd be worried about nighttime predators getting through it.

NPIP certification is often required for interstate shipments. It's a good idea to check both your state's and the recipient's regulations before sending eggs.

I've done something similar by using a covered “chicken moat” around my garden. Instead of tunnels, I made a fenced corridor that leads them out of the garden while allowing me to control access. The key was training them with food to follow the designated path. A problem I ran into was some birds ...

I'm getting 24 hatching eggs at the end of February and need advice on brooding and introducing chicks!
I have a wooden brooder with hardware cloth that my father-in-law built for me,
I'm worried about chicks' feet getting stuck.

If the chick is healthy otherwise, it could be looking for extra warmth. They don't regulate their body temperature well at this age, so slight variations can make a difference. Try watching to see if it stays near the heat source more than the others.

I'd recommend Oxine if you have a fogger,it penetrates every surface without heavy scrubbing. For daily disinfecting, try diluted vinegar or hydrogen peroxide, which are safe and effective.

Chickens are smart, but raccoons are smarter! I'd keep them in the reinforced porch area. They'll adjust, and it's only temporary.
