Re: Best Livestock Guardian Dog Breeds for Backyard Chickens?

Our Maremma watches over chickens, ducks, and goats. It took time to train, but now she's gentle and ...

Re: Vaccinating Chicks Timing and Compatibility
You're right that human vaccines are spaced apart to prevent immune overload, and poultry vaccines follow similar principles. Since Marek's is best given early, I'd prioritize that first. Re: Can Two Roosters Live Together Without Hens?
A rooster bachelor pen can work well, but it depends on the temperament of the birds. Some roosters remain bonded without hens, while others may see each other as rivals once the hens are removed. To increase your chances of success, ensure they have ample space, multiple feeding and watering ...

Re: Brooder Plate or Heat Lamp, Which One Should I Use?
I have two batches of chicks hatching soonone small group in early February and a larger group in March. The first batch will start in a plastic bin inside before moving to a heated garage brooder. The second batch will be bigger, so I might need multiple heat sources.
Should I go with a heat ...

Re: Creating a Chicken Garden for Fresh, Healthy Eggs
That sounds like a fun project! Chickens love fresh greens, so planting clover, alfalfa, and kale is always a great choice. I also grow some edible flowers like marigolds and nasturtiums. They help keep pests away and are safe for chickens.

Hatching Store-Bought Eggs Need Advice!
Hello everyone!
Ive seen some incredible stories about people successfully hatching chicks from store-bought eggs, and Im really curious to try it myself. I usually buy the high-end "free-range, organic, farm-fresh" eggs from Aldi, and recently, I got a carton that had a lot of bloom and even a few ...
