High protein isn't usually an issue, but too much can cause kidney problems. Watch for excessive urates in droppings as a sign.

My RIRs were all over the place with when they started laying. Some at 18 weeks, some closer to 24. Every bird is different!

One trick is to check for the bullseye on the yolk before setting them. If you've already seen that they're fertile, you've got a shot at success!
