I use a heat lamp in a well-secured holder for large hatches, but a brooder plate is my go-to for small batches. It really depends on your setup!

If you're breeding like I am, space needs get even trickier. My Olive Egger breeding pens need at least 6 sq ft per bird in the coop because roosters and hens both need room to avoid stress. For larger groups, I expand the outdoor run to at least 15 sq ft per bird to minimize aggression. I also ...

If she's eating, drinking, and active, she's probably okay. Chickens do all sorts of weird things! But if the twitching gets worse, a vitamin E and selenium supplement might help in case it's neurological.
