I'd suspect coccidiosis or worms. Even if she's eating and laying, those symptoms can sneak up fast. Deworming might be worth trying.

Re: Do I Need a Red Heat Bulb for My Brooder? Understanding Heat Sources for Chicks

A brooder just needs a consistent, safe heat source. Red bulbs reduce pecking, but a heat plate is much safer and more natural for chicks. White bulbs can be too harsh, disrupting sleep. I've used both methods, and heat plates result in calmer, healthier chicks.

Re: Fresh Herbs in the Brooder Any Suggestions?

I'd suggest adding lemon balm! It has a mild, sweet scent and is known for its calming effects. Plus, it helps deter pests and keeps the brooder fresh.

Re: My Chicks Aren’t Staying Warm Enough in the Brooder

If they're huddling together and chirping loudly, they're likely too cold. Try lowering the heat lamp slightly or adding a second one to warm the brooder more evenly.

Re: Emergency Help Needed for Severely Injured Chicks

I really hope your chicks recover quickly. For penicillin, it's available in some farm stores without a prescription, but it's always a good idea to check with the store first to make sure it's right for chickens. You should also keep them warm, feed them high-quality food, and make sure they have ...

Re: Is This Normal for Rooster Acting Aggressive in the Morning?

I've had similar experiences with my rooster. He can be pretty aggressive in the morning, but it usually settles down. Just make sure your hens have space to escape if they need it and aren't being overly stressed by him.
