Hey everyone, Im noticing that my rooster seems to have favorites hes overmating a few specific hens, and theyre starting to look rough. Their feathers are getting worn down, and Im worried they might get injured.
Is there a reason why hes focusing on just a few hens? And what can I do to help ...

Check their body condition. If they're underweight or stressed (like from flock dynamics), it could delay their laying.

A 30-minute break won't hurt. In nature, hens leave their nests for short periods. Just watch to make sure she returns.
