Re: Best Livestock Guardian Dog Breeds for Backyard Chickens?
Spanish Mastiffs are patient and low-energy but super protective. Ours is great around the coop.

Re: Mobile Chicken Tractor Ideas for Rotational Grazing - Seeking Advice
If you have the time, this sounds like a great way to manage both chickens and pasture health. Maybe have a backup plan if bad weather hits while they're in the field.

It could just be a natural growth pause. If they're still eating well, give it another week and weigh them again.

Re: My Experience with Bielefelders
Interesting! I have one Bielefelder rooster, and he's actually my most mellow boy. He does eat a lot, though. I think this breed might not be the best for a small backyard flock unless you really love big birds.

If she stretched her leg out normally, that's a good sign! Maybe she's just adjusting to being inside. Have you noticed if she does it more when standing still or moving around?

My flock took almost a month to fully settle in together. The pecking order drama was real, but they eventually figured it out!

Chickens will eat just about anything, and rice is no exception! Mine gobble up cooked rice, especially when mixed with veggies or protein.

A Curious Case of Neck Twitching Cause for Concern?
This morning, while watching the flock go about their usual routine, something caught my eye. One of the young Buff Orpingtons stood still, stretched her neck out, and gave a sudden twitch. At first, it seemed like a one-off movement, but then she did it again. And again.

Re: Should I Feed My Flock in the Coop or Outside?
I recommend feeding outside if your chickens have access to a large run or free range. It keeps the coop tidier, and they can enjoy scratching around. However, if you have limited space, feeding inside can help you keep an eye on their intake.
