Does choosing local developers really make app building easier

Hi everyone, I’m just starting my mobile app journey and could use some guidance. I keep searching for app developers near me, thinking local teams might understand my idea better and communicate faster. At the same time, I wonder if that really matters anymore. For those who’ve built an app before, did working locally help, or did remote developers work just as well? I’d love to hear honest experiences and lessons learned.
