We recently had a sharp temperature dropit's now getting down to 18F at night and around 35F during the day. The flock has a heat lamp in their coop and free access to go inside or out to the pasture. Despite this, today when I went out to feed them scraps, my rooster stood off to the side instead of joining the hens. His posture seemed withdrawn, with his head tucked into his neck, and I could just tell he wasnt himself.
Could this be frostbite, poor circulation, or something else? Should I be worried about illness? Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Since he's never had health issues before, this sudden change is concerning. Have you introduced any new birds or changed their diet recently? Any signs of worms?
