I think this is a great idea as long as the slope isnt too extreme. Chickens like to roam and scratch, so theyll probably enjoy the added space to explore. Just make sure the hill is free from loose dirt or debris that could make it dangerous for them. If its a gradual incline, I think theyll be just fine. You could also try putting some cover on the slope to give them shade or shelter from predators.

Hey there! I think the hillside could be a great addition to their space. Chickens love to explore, and the incline might actually be beneficial for them since itll give them more variety in their environment. Just make sure theres no risk of them getting stuck or falling. You could put up a barrier or fencing at the edge to keep them safe from rolling down. Otherwise, I think theyd love the extra space to forage and hunt those grasshoppers!

Welcome to the forum! I think expanding their area onto the hill could work if it's not too steep and the surface is safe. However, some chickens have difficulty navigating steep inclines, so it's worth observing how they handle the space before giving them full access. You could also set up a small enclosure near the top to make sure they stay close and aren't at risk of rolling down. Let them try it out a bit at a time, and you'll get a better idea of how they do.
