Re: Safe Fire Ant Solutions for Free-Range Chickens

I use a product called diatomaceous earth for fire ants. It's safe for chickens and helps control the population of pests like ants. You can sprinkle it around their free-range area, and the chickens won't be harmed by it. Just make sure to use food-grade diatomaceous earth, not the kind for pools.

Re: Can Slightly Chlorinated Water Improve Hatch Rates?

I use distilled water to avoid mineral buildup, but I sanitize my incubator between hatches. If bacteria is an issue, consider stronger cleaning methods instead.

Re: How Long Does It Take for Chickens to Reach Full Size?

I have a few Rhode Island Reds that were about 90% grown by 5 months, but I noticed the last few details, like feather density and the overall body shape, didn't fully develop until closer to 7 months. My advice is to enjoy the baby stage, it passes by fast!
