One of the biggest surprises has been how my flock improved my compost. Their constant scratching keeps it aerated, and their manure adds the perfect nitrogen boost. My compost breaks down faster and richer than ever!

I had success with Sweet PDZ, which is a stall refresher used for horses. It absorbs moisture and neutralizes ammonia. Safe for chickens, too!

If the chicks are acting normally and eating well, pale feet might not be a problem. However, if they seem weak or lethargic, it could indicate anemia or poor circulation.

I've tried hatching store-bought eggs before, and while it's possible, the success rate can be low. Make sure you candle them after a few days to check for development. Good luck!

I personally go with a handful of oats per bird in the morning, separate from their main feed. That way, they get the extra energy but still eat enough balanced layer feed.

Some people brood them together with raised waterers and constant bedding changes, but it's a lot of work. If you want easier care, separate them early on.

I've done something similar with a dedicated garden space. Some of my chickens enjoy eating peas, but others prefer dandelion greens and grass. I also recommend planting marigolds because they can help deter pests while being safe for the chickens.

I let my chicks peck at fresh sprouts when they're about a week old. Alfalfa or wheatgrass is easy to grow and adds some natural variety to their diet!
