If it was a group of coyotes, they could have worked together to grab multiple birds quickly. A game camera might help you figure out what's going on.

Sorry this happened to you! Losing chickens is heartbreaking. I suggest reinforcing your coop and setting up cameras,you might catch the culprit before it happens again.

Could it be human theft? If someone took them, they wouldn't leave any signs behind. Do you have any security cameras or neighbors who might have seen something?

Sounds like an owl or hawk could be involved. They can carry off chickens silently, especially at night. Any trees nearby where a predator could have perched?

This is puzzling! Coyotes usually leave feathers behind. Maybe a fox? They tend to grab and go. That one returning chicken makes it even weirder.

I've heard of bobcats doing this,they can grab multiple chickens in a night and leave little evidence. Have you seen any strange tracks?
