I had the same thing happen with my RIRs! Two started at 5 months, and the others didn't lay until almost 6 months. It all evened out in the end.

Rhode Island Reds are usually pretty reliable layers, but they still mature at their own pace. Keep an eye on them, but they should catch up.

Some pullets just take a little longer to develop their reproductive systems. If they're healthy and active, I wouldn't worry. You'll probably see eggs from them soon!

My RIRs were all over the place with when they started laying. Some at 18 weeks, some closer to 24. Every bird is different!

Check their body condition. If they're underweight or stressed (like from flock dynamics), it could delay their laying.

If they seem healthy and are eating well, I wouldn't stress too much. Just enjoy the anticipation, soon enough, you'll have more eggs than you know what to do with!
A hen is only an egg's way of making another egg.
