That's a really well-rounded selection of breeds! You'll get a great variety of egg colors, feather patterns, and personalities. I've found that Swedish Flower Hens are some of the best free-rangers, while Marans and Legbars are more content staying close to the coop. If you're looking for a low-maintenance, colorful flock, you've chosen some of the best breeds out there. Do you plan on keeping all the chicks or selling some?

I think you'll love your Mosaics! I have a few, and they are incredibly curious birds with a bit of a wild streak. They tend to be flighty as chicks but calm down with regular handling. As adults, they have a wonderful mix of independence and friendliness. Their feather patterns are always unique, and they get even more stunning as they mature. If you're looking for variety in both personality and appearance, you've chosen well!

Ive ordered:
- 8 Cream Legbars (breeder specializes in cream, but also has some opal and crele lines)
- 6 Mosaics
- 5 Swedish Flower Hens
- 7 Marans (could be black, blue, or splashwaiting to see what I get!)
Right now, my flock consists of Isbars, French Black Copper Marans, and some mixed-breed hens with fun egg colors. My current girls came from a small farm working toward purebred lines, but these new hatching eggs are from a well-established breeder with great reviews.
Id love to hear from anyone who has experience with these breeds! How has your hatch rate been? Any favorite personality traits or challenges? Im just excited to see how this mix turns out!
Sounds like a fantastic mix! I love my Swedish Flower Hens, such friendly birds with gorgeous feather patterns. Hope you get a great hatch!

What an exciting lineup! I've raised Swedish Flower Hens and Marans before, and they are both fantastic breeds. The Swedish Flowers are particularly hardy, independent foragers, and have great personalities. My Marans, on the other hand, were a bit more reserved but laid the most gorgeous dark chocolate eggs. You'll love seeing what color variations you get in both breeds. Hatching from a reputable breeder should also give you strong, healthy chicks. Keep us posted on how it goes!
