If youve kept both ducks and chickens, how do they each interact with your garden? I know chickens can be great for pest control but also love to scratch and dig sometimes at the expense of my plants. Ducks, on the other hand, seem more focused on slugs and bugs without disturbing the soil as much.
Do you find one easier to manage in the garden? Have you noticed differences in the types of pests they go after or how they affect your soil and plants? Id love to hear your experiences and any tips for integrating either (or both!) into a garden space!
Whats Your Experience with Ducks in the Garden Compared to Chickens?

My ducks hunt snails and slugs without damaging plants. Chickens? Total chaos , they dig up everything.

I've found ducks better for summer gardens. They target slugs and snails without disturbing the soil. Chickens handle tougher pests like beetles but wreak havoc on seedlings. Keeping them separate has worked best for me.

Ducks are easier on the soil, but their water mess can get out of hand if you're not careful.
Raising chickens... Not eating chickens...

Ducks water the edges of my beds while they splash , bonus! Chickens, on the other hand, just make dust baths.
