Play sand is cheap and perfect for indoor dust baths. Once they're outside, you can mix in some wood ash and diatomaceous earth for added benefits.

My hens are crazy about carrots! Maybe yours don't like the carrot tops, but try offering them whole carrots or the roots, they'll peck away at them in no time! I also find that they go wild for peas and beans, so you might try those.

Amoxicillin can be effective, but it depends on the cause. If it's bacterial, it might help, but if it's viral, supportive care is best.

Roosters can sometimes be more sensitive to the cold than hens. If the heat lamp isn't enough, consider additional wind protection or a temporary indoor setup.

Try offering some olive oil and gently massaging her crop. If it's a minor blockage, this can help things move along. Also, check if she has access to grit,it's essential for digestion!

Re: Keeping It in the Flock: Is Inbreeding a Problem?
Inbreeding can lead to weaker chicks over time. If you're not opposed to culling, you can remove any offspring that show signs of poor health or deformities.

Re: Did I Mess Up by Removing Eggs from My Broody Hen?
You did the right thing by removing the bad eggs. It can be tough to manage a broody hen when they're exposed to extreme weather, but she should be fine with the two good eggs. Watch for any signs of her losing interest, and consider an incubator if she continues to get up often.

I'd watch and see if it increases over time. If she starts showing other signs of discomfort or illness, then I'd be more concerned. For now, it might just be a harmless habit.
